Stridewise is a community that explores the tradition, stories, and practical wear of well-made, fashion-proof clothes. Our mission is “casual stuff that lasts for ages.” While we write more on boots than anything else, we’ve hired many writers who have explored other areas of timeless menswear: leather jackets, selvedge jeans, canvas bags, and a lot more.
Position details
We’re seeking a Subject Matter Expert in heritage clothing and durable casual apparel. This role is designed for individuals who deeply understand durable and timeless fashion items and are eager to share their knowledge through various content types.
Whether you’re an expert in leatherwork, have an extensive background in textile manufacturing, or are deeply entrenched in the culture of denim and boots, please help our audience appreciate the craftsmanship and stories behind these items.
This position allows you to work closely with our content team, including senior editors and content creators, to produce authoritative and engaging content. You will be instrumental in guiding our explorative articles, product reviews, and educational pieces.
Flexibility to work from our New York office or remotely from anywhere in the world is offered, enabling you to be part of our pioneering team from your preferred location.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute expert insights and knowledge to a variety of content types, including:
- Guides and Articles: Deep dives into specific heritage clothing topics, showcasing your expertise.
- Video Content: Collaborating on scripts and appearing in videos to explain complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Example: How Carmina Makes Luxury Lasts
- Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content accuracy and authenticity.
- Help curate and recommend products that meet Stridewise’s standards for quality and durability.
- Participate in interviews and collaborate with relevant subject matter experts to enhance content depth.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in a specific area of heritage clothing or durable, casual apparel, supported by professional experience or significant personal involvement.
- Strong passion for educating others about durable, timeless fashion and the ability to communicate complex topics engagingly.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in content creation or presenting on camera, with the ability to adapt expertise into various content formats.
- A portfolio showcasing previous work or involvement in heritage clothing projects or other topics.
Compensation:
- Compensation is based on experience and location, with a commitment to offering competitive rates for our experts.
